The variety of food is awesome...whether you are beginning the day with a fresh and healthy breakfast, enjoying antipasto of island cheese and Dalmation olives and pršut, or a magnificent dinner of calamari, grilled škarpina, or Dalmation-style chicken with rosemary – the Meneghello restaurant is open from morning till night.
Dine under a bamboo roof, surrounded by plants and local arts and crafts that adorn the colorful walls. This unique setting, overlooking the bay, has a split level terrace for you to enjoy the panorama as you sip some of the best local wines made on sunny slopes of Hvar.
Start with a bruschetta with tomatoes, fresh basil and goat cheese; there is grilled bread with garlic, home-made anchovies, octopus salad... or, if you feel like soup, you can choose fish soup, tomato soup with capers, anise soup or vegetable soup.
Move on to sea truffles, (sea eggs), which are said to be an aphrodisiac! Don’t forget to try the gregada, a selection of first class fish and shells, prepared on a bed of potatoes and onions and covered in locally produced extra virgin olive oil which has been simmered slowly in broth on an open fire.
And to send it all down in style, have the after dinner special travarica, a local grappa, scented with herbs and spices.
